Art for the Home
By admin On June 18th, 2010A lot of people may be intimidated by art or paintings. They may think that this is something that it is too sophisticated for them. However, any person can choose art according to what will fit their home. This will really help in adding to the decoration in the home.
The first step is to carefully look at the space that the art would fill. The size of the art should complement the space it will fill in. So, large art should be placed in larger spaces such as over the mantle, and small art should be for smaller spaces.
After the size, the art buyer has to next look at the color scheme. Look at the color of the room where the art will be placed in. Also, decide on the mood that the painting or art will complement. Will it be a formal room, a room for children, or an informal space?
Another important factor to consider is the theme of the painting. Paintings evoke emotions from people who look at them. For instance, landscapes and black-and-white photographs can be placed in more public areas such as the living room or the dining room. On the other hand, more provocative art and paintings can be placed in areas where there is more privacy.
Once the paintings and art have been chosen, frame the pieces to preserve them. A good idea would be to match frames according to the themes of the paintings. Art should not be intimidating because it is for everyone and everyone’s home.
