Going Green with Organic Gardens
By admin On February 1st, 2010Global climate change has reached levels that we can no longer ignore anymore. The responsibility now falls to everyone. We all have the moral responsibility to be answerable to whatever we do that may have an impact to the environment. Working hand in hand is the way to go. Everyone should contribute, even in their own little ways for the preservation of the environment. Even at home, there are many simple ways we can do today to help the environment. Our backyards for example are usually just open spaces where we sometimes enjoy our backyard camping weekends with the kids. We only read around in a camping forum for this purpose and that’s it.
However, for your home improvement going green project, you can have an organic garden in your backyard. This makes your home greener and more eco friendly. Growing organic fruits and vegetables of your own not only benefits you but the environment as well. You help in replacing manufactured pesticides and fertilizers with affordable and natural products.
For all your plants to thrive healthily in your garden, your first step will be to set up a compose pile or worm bin. This will give you natural organic fertilizers as it transforms food scraps and yard waste. You then either buy an organic gardening mix at your local nursery or you can also make your own. You will be all set to grow your own variety of fruits and plants. Just don’t forget to leave an open space for your camping weekends with your kids.
